Favorite Tech

Technology is expensive, and tends to become irrelevant quickly. I wanted to share some of our all-time-favorites, specifically ones that have stood the test of time.

I hope these recommendations are helpful to you!

Roomba Robot Vacuum

We like our Roomba so much we named it (his name is “Mo”, after the industrious cleaning robot in the movie Wall-E.)

We got our Roomba in early 2015, and still use it weekly. It does a good job vacuuming and it’s kind of delightful to watch it navigate around. Not to mention it’s quite satisfying to not have to vacuum your floors yourself.

Sonos Speakers

Ask your nearest audiophile – Sonos speakers are the best. These units are Wifi connected and controlled via the Sonos app. I love that you can link them together or leave them separate to play different things. Plus being Wifi connected instead of controlled via Bluetooth is better for both reliability and sound quality.

We’ve added speakers slowly over time, and now have five throughout our home. They sound beautiful and we use them daily.

Paprika Recipe Manager

This is a great app for storing recipes, making grocery lists fast (directly from recipes), and planning out meals for the week or month.

I store all my recipes on here, and use it for grocery lists. You can also save recipes from a webpage into the app with one click. Apple family sharing allows everyone in your family to have the app after you buy it once, so everyone can edit lists in real time when grocery shopping or throughout the week.

Apple TV

We watch all our TV on this device. If you have Netflix or a cable subscription, you can sign into your account or specific TV channel apps, or just use tons of free apps like YouTube or various games.

Fitbit Fitness Tracker

Fitbit has earned my loyalty over the years, through their products and customer service. The Inspire can be used as a pedometer on a clip, or slide into a wristband to become a smartwatch.

The Fitbit app is also customizable… choose to display or hide your food & water tracking, weight, steps, active time, etc.
